Model railroading has existed for more than a century. Passionate hobbyists continuously strive for increasingly realistic models, complete with miniature environments that often recreate real locations. One of the constraints of these enthusiasts face is space, as confined areas can hinder their model railroads. Not one to be deterred from his passions, author and hobbyist Mike J. Scheerens has innovatively circumvented these limits, and presents the fruits of his works in Apartment Model Trains.
“My model trains mostly sat in boxes until I did what I showed in this book,” Scheerens shares. His book presents an alternate approach for doing model trains, complete with pictographic illustrations showcasing his very own feats of model railway engineering. Instead of a conventional board with an oval and a few switch tracks, hobbyists can use the author’s unique method to create much larger tracks while taking up less space. This innovative and efficient arrangement allows enthusiasts to create without having their vision limited, and is extremely useful in enabling them to pursue their passions despite being in less spacious environments.
Apartment Model Trains is an invaluable guide for hobbyists to continue having fun with their pastime despite being in places too confined for conventional railroad layouts. Dedicated adherents of model railroading and those seeking to get into the hobby will definitely have their railroading experience enhanced by Scheerens’ innovative work.
