SIGMA Marketing Group, the data-driven marketing services firm, has hired media and marketing veteran Stefan Willimann as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2013. The move signals a new strategic turn for SIGMA, which continues to invest in marketing analytics and customer intelligence technology to help clients drive more revenue from their customer data.
Willimann’s background in media and digital will help SIGMA shape a fuller strategic direction for 2013, with a more product-focused approach that gives clients added control of the marketing process. These standardized offerings drive down the costs of using sophisticated databases and advanced analytics.
Willimann replaces interim CEO and board member Gerry Wenzke, who held the post for the last six months. Willimann is the founder of Maine-based news website NewsSimply Corp., and prior to that was vice president of strategic sales and marketing for CBS Broadcasting, Inc. in New York City.
SIGMA’s new approach to market was a big draw for Willimann, who cited SIGMA’s commitment to a product focus, eliminating steps to get clients closer to their data, campaign execution and ROI, and enabling clients to self-serve customer insights through its mi-Link portal.

At the center of SIGMA’s new strategy is mi-Link, a customer intelligence hub that combines insights, speed and easy-to-use access to help marketers improve success at every touch point, enabling true customer engagement. mi-Link is single-source marketers can turn to for a more accurate picture of their customers and the ability to engage them with on-target, relevant messages. SIGMA plans more product development throughout 2013.
Helping to devise and execute SIGMA’s strategy is Willimann’s management team of industry experts Jaime Sanchez, CFO; Jim Dellavilla, EVP Client Services; Martha Bush, SVP Strategy; Chris Brodhead, SVP Sales and Marketing; and Paul Raca, SVP of Analytics and Technology. Raca recently took on this new position that combines Sigma’s information technology and analytics teams.
