The Empower Network is the brainchild of David Wood and David Sharpe. Their business was officially opened on October 31, 2011.
David Wood states that Empower Networks has helped thousands of small business owners and entrepreneurs, and has already produced nearly 10 million in sales for the company that’s just over a year old.
DC Fawcett said, “What attracted me to the Empower Network was their ability to take the complicated stuff like building websites, getting merchant accounts and so forth for the small business person, and give them simple tools they can use themselves to save tens of thousands of dollars.”
The Empower Network sells a blogging system for businesses or individuals alike.
“Empower Network’s solutions takes the headache’s out of the local business owner who needs a powerful presence on the World Wide Web to compete in today's business world. They [Empower Network] do that without all the cost of graphic designers, programming websites, and all the other technical and high priced costs that goes with that,” said DC Fawcett.

According to a recent article in the Wall Street Journal, U.S. small-business hiring plans plunged to their lowest level in four years last month. DC Fawcett says it’s a marketing cost problem.
“Small businesses don’t have the marketing budget that big companies do,” DC Fawcett stated.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the Small Business Administration suggests that 7 to 8% of a company’s revenue should be spent on marketing.
“Seven to eight percent of a start-up business' marketing budget can easily be eaten up by programmers, graphic designers and copy writing expenses. That’s before the business even has a chance to use customer acquisition strategies like search engine marketing,” DC Fawcett added.
Business Week published a story back in 2005 with the title Blogs Will Change Your Business. The article states that only 27% of American’s read blogs back then.
However, according to marketingcharts.com, a study by done Synovate two years later stated that number of blog readers had jumped to 40%. Business Week got so much interest from there 2005 article that they posted an update in 2008.
