MID Retail Inc. today announced that it has developed Virtual Warehousing capabilities in partnership with its client Urban Outfitters, Inc. The Virtual Warehousing feature set is now generally available as part of the company’s best-in-class MID Retail Advanced Allocation software solution.

Virtual Warehousing allows retailers to plan for and to designate virtual inventory that is dedicated to a particular store location. The inventory can physically be housed anywhere – including a traditional distribution center, a temporary facility, or the back room of an existing store location. MID Retail’s Advanced Allocation uses automated allocation workflows to distribute stock from virtual inventory on an as-needed basis, making sure customers find the items they want in the most trafficked store locations.
