HomeLight Launches Reviews and New Features to Help Real Estate Agents Improve Profiles

HomeLight (http://www.homelight.com), the free service that helps real estate agents source new business and showcase their skills, announced the launch of new site features today at the Inman Real Estate Connect Conference in New York City. Included in the new feature list is the addition of a client review section, an expanded and easier agent sign-up process, and the ability for an agent to verify their transactions. These additions are a direct result of the feedback HomeLight received from the real estate agents that signed up after the company’s launch in November 2012.

“We’ve had thousands of agents claim their profile on HomeLight and we’ve received very positive feedback,” said Drew Uher, CEO and co-founder of HomeLight. “We acknowledge that past transactions are only one way to highlight an agent’s strengths. The review functionality we’re launching today will provide an additional way for agents to showcase themselves, and adds another element to help consumers choose more wisely.”

HomeLight has information on more than two million real estate agents in 34 markets, which includes some personal profile details and their sales transaction history. Agents can easily claim their profile to ensure information and data is accurate, and also add further details that are pertinent to their profile. The primary new feature is a reviews and recommendations section on each agent’s profile. Agents can ask their clients to leave reviews or they can pull in their LinkedIn recommendations. HomeLight will use information from the reviews in its ranking algorithm. The two other new features make the process of claiming, validating and enhancing their profiles easier.

Feature details include:

  •     The addition of a reviews and recommendations section: Agents can invite their clients to post a review on their HomeLight profile page using a unique URL, or clients can go directly to the website and post a review. Agents can also choose to pull in their LinkedIn recommendations to show on their profile page.
  •     Expanded agent sign-up process: It is now easier for agents to claim and enhance their profile with a new, more intuitive interface.
  •     Ability to verify transactions: Once an agent has claimed their profile, they can further validate any of their transactions. HomeLight verifies any changes to agent transactions to ensure the quality of the data.
