Bill Frazier is a prime example of what a common person can achieve when they heed the voice of God and follow His will. No matter what they have done in their personal life, God will let the repentant person flourish when they become obedient.

Everyone talks about going overseas to minister to countries that have never heard the gospel of the Lord, but Richard Guy’s new book, With God You’re Always a Winner: The Chaplain of Stock Car Racing ($14.99, paperback, 978-1-62230-872-9; $7.49, eBook, 978-1-62230-873-6), takes readers into another foreign “world” to most, NASCAR. The author spent a lot of time interviewing Bill Frazier, the first person to bring the ministry to the rough world of profession stock car racing. He first showed up unannounced at a race in 1970 with a chapel on wheels. He would go on to minister to the drivers, the crews and their families. While many wanted to see Frazier fail, he pressed on and gained some valuable endorsements from both Richard Petty and Bobby Allison. The author explains the personal and external struggles Frazier faced to show that even the most unlikely candidates, in the most unlikely places can make a huge impact on others’ lives.

“The takeaways [in this book} are two fold. First, Bill Frazier is a prime example of what a common person can achieve when they heed the voice of God and follow His will. No matter what they have done in their personal life, God will let the repentant person flourish when they become obedient,” states the author. “Second, any NASCAR fan should truly enjoy the inside information this book shares about the sport and its stars.”

Richard Guy has been involved with Stock Car racing since 1975 and joined NASCAR in 1977. He spent numerous hours researching and conducting face-to-face interviews Richard Petty, Bobby Allison, Bill Frazier, NASCAR personalities such as Leonard Wood, Maurice Petty and Frank Warren before compiling all of his information into a book. The author currently resides in Pennsylvania and serves as a Chaplain with Racers for Christ and God Speed Ministries. Both groups are dedicated to bring the gospel to the racing world.
