Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) January 17, 2013

In its third year, the Cobb Galleria Festival of Trees set an ambitious goal of raising $30,000 for 37 local charities. The results were announced at a holiday gala for the participating charities and guests, where Santa Claus revealed the fundraising goal had been met at $29,900.

The Embassy Suites Atlanta – Galleria gave an additional $1,000 to Camp Juliette Low, which raised the most totaling over $5,500. Homeless Pets Foundation raised over $4,500 and received $500 from Epic Response, Inc. for second place. The St. Vincent de Paul society received the “People’s Choice Award” of $250 from Gas South.

“The community really came out and supported the Cobb Galleria Festival of Trees and the 37 non-profits, which benefit from this holiday tradition,” said Dale Gustafson, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Embassy Suites Atlanta – Galleria. “It warmed our hearts to see families, groups and hotel guests enjoy the spirit of the season in our winter wonderland”.

"I love Christmas and seeing close to 40 beautifully decorated trees up close and in person not only broadened my awareness of so many wonderful charities, but brightened my holiday spirit,” said Kicks 101.5 radio personality Cadillac Jack, who served as the celebrity emcee of the gala with Dallas McCade, his morning show partner. “This is what the season is truly about!"

Participating nonprofits decorated their tree and holiday revelers “voted” for their favorite by donating to that charity. The annual event raised $14,000 in its inaugural year.
