“This is the second case that we have favorably brought to conclusion in an effort to defend our patent. This judgment further validates the value of our technology and demonstrates that we will vigorously enforce our rights under the patent. We realize that the recovery beverage category is rapidly growing and we are interested in partnering with other marketers of recovery products but we want them to properly license our technology if they want to make claims related to alcohol consumption," said Loretta M. Zapp, Applied Food Sciences, Inc.'s CEO.

Applied Food Sciences, Inc.'s patent covers several ingredients and products, including their own product, GTOX® Hangover Shot which is specifically formulated for preventing and recovering from hangovers. Austin, Texas-based Applied Food Sciences is a health and wellness organization that specializes in providing nutritional solutions for the food, beverage and supplement industries.
