Our LIF technology is designed for manufacturing PAT applications
Saint Louis, Missouri (PRWEB) January 19, 2013
In this new program, entitled “Does it Fluoresce?”, Prozess will provide comprehensive sample kits and instructions to interested manufacturers at no charge. In turn, the manufacturer will use the kit to mail a test sample to Prozess’s LIF lab for detailed analysis and testing.
LIF spectroscopy is garnering tremendous interest throughout the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry as it is extremely effective in the identification and measurement of very low concentrations of ingredients. LIF is hundreds of times more sensitive than NIR, thus it is a very good analytical technique for pharmaceuticals using high-potency APIs if they fluoresce. The Prozess LIF technology is unique, as it offers the industry’s only full-spectrum measurement of LIF in a package specifically designed for real-time, production environments.
“We see a definite trend in pharmaceutical manufacturing toward using high-potency ingredients in low concentrations in today’s pharmaceutical manufacturing, and these production lines can benefit greatly from the robustness, efficiency, and sensitivity which our PAT systems provide,” stated Dr. Susan Bragg, CTO of Prozess Technologie. “Our LIF technology is designed for manufacturing PAT applications, and we have demonstrated this with a number of successful installations.”
For a limited time, Prozess will supply qualified customers with sample kits to send their samples to Prozess where they will be analyzed at no charge to determine their suitability for LIF. Results of the analysis will be provided along with the return of the sample. If the material fluoresces, Prozess will recommend a more detailed feasibility analysis.
Additionally, Prozess is demonstrating its LIF technology live at the annual IFPAC show in Baltimore, MD Jan 23-25, 2013.
