PGA National, a premier golfing destination and vacationer’s paradise, will show off one of its newest renovation projects when it brings the longest-running, off-Broadway performance in history to the Lakeside Lawn.
“Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding” will grace the scenic venue overlooking the large water feature that anchors the luxury resort’s Champion course at 5 p.m. Jan. 20, 2013. “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding” has been hailed as the world's No. 1 dinner-show production since its New York City debut in 1988. It has hit stages all over the United States, as well as Australia, Europe and Japan – 100 cities in all.
Not only are owners of PGA National homes invited to the show, so are area residents. All who attend will be “guests” at a celebration of nuptials between the two Italian lovebirds. Following the ceremony, in which audience participation is a highlight, everyone is invited to a reception thrown by the two families: the Nunzios and the Vitales.
During the reception, there will be dancing and singing, an official champagne toast to the newlyweds, a dinner featuring an Italian pasta dish and a dessert, and a piece of wedding cake. Expect capers, misadventures and lots of laughs.
“You feel as if you are going to an actual wedding, yet a comedy takes place during the ceremony and the reception,” said Karen Cantor, public-relations manager at PGA National. “We are going to stage the wedding ceremony on the Lakeside Lawn, and then the reception and dinner continues in the British Ballroom. It is basically an invitation to see our new outdoor venue.”
The production coming to the property in Palm Beach Gardens will feature original cast members from New York City. Tickets cost $95 and are available at 561-627-4852. Seating is limited to 200.
