Beyond the fact that these products shed a poor light on the entire industry, they put engines, transmissions, and other equipment at risk of serious damage and downtime.
Metuchen, NJ (PRWEB) January 22, 2013
The Petroleum Quality Institute of America (PQIA), is pleased to announce that Chemlube International LLC has joined the ranks of other industry stake-holders supporting PQIA’s efforts to assure the quality and integrity of lubricants in the market.
Rob Nobel, President of Chemlube International LLC, says, “The support of PQIA was not a hard decision to make in that PQIA’s efforts to help assure the quality of lubricants in the marketplace align well with our market philosophy and reputation.” Chemlube says, “Its reputation as a quality marketer of API licensed and other specification driven Quality Products in the marketplace is and will remain a foremost objective.”
To this point, Nobel adds, “Customers and end users are constantly bombarded with offers of non-licensed and low quality products. Beyond the fact that these products shed a poor light on the entire industry, they put engines, transmissions, and other equipment at risk of serious damage and downtime. Chemlube’s support of the efforts of PQIA to raise awareness about lubricant quality, warn consumers about poor quality products, and keep the playing field level for all players and to protect the public against poor quality is 100%.”
PQIA President Thomas F. Glenn says it "Welcomes Chemlube’s support and its commitment to quality demonstrated by its willingness, like all our supporters, to agree to our Supporter Code of Conduct.” While it is clear we face serious challenges with poor quality off-spec engine oils and other lubricants in the market, it’s encouraging to know that Chemlube and our other supporters are willing to do something about it to protect consumers from poor quality lubricants.”
PQIA’s mission is to serve the consumer of lubricants by testing and reporting on the quality and integrity of lubricants in the marketplace. It is expected that this improved visibility of quality will lead to wider conformance by lubricant manufacturers to specification and performance claims. PQIA supporters include Afton, Chevron, CHS Industries, CITGO, Eni USA R&M Co., Phillips 66, Lubrizol, Infineum, Lubricating Specialties Co., Pinnacle Oil, Universal Lubricants, Warren Distribution, Warren Oil, Safety-Kleen, and now Chemlube.
