Frisco, TX (PRWEB) January 22, 2013

Miami Children’s Hospital has partnered with Corepoint Health to replace their existing interface engine with Corepoint Integration Engine. The hospital switched to the Windows-based integration platform to alleviate stability concerns and to ensure that vital patient data is available to caregivers when needed.

Edward Martinez, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Miami Children’s Hospital, said he chose Corepoint Integration Engine because of its proven reputation of delivering true interoperability solutions, which is of utmost importance for his facility’s eHealth Initiative that integrates mobile applications, a regional telehealth center, and video devices with the hospital’s electronic medical record system.

“We wanted a platform we could trust at the center of our health data environment. Every interface in our system will run through Corepoint Integration Engine prior to sending data to providers or incorporating their data into our system,” Martinez said. “Having Corepoint Integration Engine in place gives me peace of mind about the performance of every interface, and I know the product will keep us ahead of the curve with future health data exchange initiatives.”

Henry Cespedes, interface integration analyst at Miami Children’s Hospital, echoed that statement, saying the stability he now has using Corepoint Integration Engine to create and monitor interfaces in a Windows environment gives him confidence that their health data will move between systems as intended.

“Windows offers a lot of advantages because I have more control over security, other than simply denying someone access like in UNIX. Additionally, you can’t transfer files in UNIX without purchasing an add-on product that is full of its own unique problems,” Cespedes said. “Stability with Corepoint Integration Engine is absolutely excellent.”

The implementation process proved to Cespedes why the product has achieved the #1 ranking for interface engines from 2009-2012 in the Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Services Report.

“I feel like when I call Corepoint Health, they want to see us succeed because we’re partners. It seems that when I contact other vendors with an idea or an issue the call becomes adversarial in nature,” said Cespedes. “I now refer to Corepoint Health’s customer support in management meetings when discussing how a real vendor-provider partnership should operate.”

Phil Guy, Corepoint Health chief executive officer, said they are looking forward to collaborating with one of the nation’s premier pediatric hospitals to help their innovative team exchange data between health information systems, facilities, and various applications.

“Miami Children’s Hospital is one of the top healthcare institutions in the country. Ten of their programs are listed among the nation’s best in U.S. News & World Report and they have been recognized as a Magnet facility since 2004.” Guy said. “We are inspired by their passion to constantly improve and we look forward to working with their innovative team to modernize their health data environment and reach underserved patients through technology.”
