An adorable little duckling stars in E. Anne Lipman’s story, “A Pin for Perky.” A treasure trove of vibrant illustrations, unforgettable characters and meaningful lessons, this book will warm the hearts of readers both young and old.
Perky is a precocious duckling who is ever so curious of the wonderful world around him. This worries his Momma and Papa especially now that it is wildfowl hunting season. Papa warns the little duck not to go into the woods alone and Perky promises to obey him.
For a while the duckling enjoys playing with his other siblings but soon he forgets the promise he made. Perky’s curiosity gets the better of him and before he knows it, he is off waddling into the woods eager to explore the world. What happens next is an experience that will let the duckling meet a cast of unique characters and teach him an important lesson he will not forget.
An ode to a child’s fresh and vivid imagination, A Pin for Perky will captivate readers as it teaches essential truths on obedience, kindness and friendship.
A Pin for Perky will be featured at the 2013 American Library Association Midwinter Book Exhibit in Seattle, Wash. on June 25 – 28, 2013. For more information, log on to http://www.Xlibris.com.
