Concord, CA (PRWEB) January 24, 2013
Safety Training Seminars now offers American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider CPR training courses in Concord, CA. This CPR training courses was designed by the AHA specifically for those working in the medical or healthcare field such as dentists, nurses, nursing students, physician assistants, lifeguards, and phlebotomists. Also, dentists receive continuing education credits from the California Dental Board after their course.
This advanced course goes by a few names such as BLS, BCLS, BLS for HCP, or BLS CPR. However the current term for this class is BLS for the Healthcare Provider. In this 4 hour training students learn many skills in order to save the life of someone in a medical or healthcare setting. Some of the topics covered include: how to use an AED (also known as an automatic external defibrillator), bag valve mask, pocket mask, how to save a choking victim, and how to perform CPR on an adult, child, or infant, and 2 person CPR.
The American Heart Association also offers an online option where a student can review the skills and take the written test over the computer. Then they would come to the office to demonstrate their skills under the watchful eyes of an AHA certified instructor. The name of this course is Heartcode BLS eLearning and is a great alternative to the busy professional. Try not to confuse this course with the scam online CPR classes where a student simply prints out a card over the computer. The AHA also offers this eLearning Class for their ACLS Certification Courses.
After a student attends and passes this course, they will receive the official American Heart Association BLS certification card which is valid for two years and the BLS book as a reference material after the class. The training is held in Concord about 3-4 times per week.
