WinkLondon: New events company set to transform the London dating experience

The launch of WinkLondon on Friday February 1st is set to change the face of dating in London, making it more sociable and entertaining. The brainchild of two twenty-something Camden flatmates, Karina Cornwell and Natalie Banner, http://www.winklondon.com is seeking to put the excitement back into being single – through vibrant venues, themed events, and the ability to cater to groups of friends.

Having both tried online dating and singles' events, the pair felt that the London dating scene was simply not living up to the promise of being one of the most exciting cities in the world. Online profiles were tedious and competitive; there was endless pressure to meet ‘the one’; they had had enough. What happened to a good old fashioned, offline knees up with a bunch of strangers who all want to have a great time?

Inspired by the huge sense of community in the wake of the Olympics, Karina and Natalie have decided to try and create just that. WinkLondon encourages groups of friends to come together to its events. All will be held at interesting venues with a theme or novel twist.

Speaking about the launch, Karina said: “It’s no secret that dating in London can be tough – and the London lifestyle makes it hard to meet new people. But the Olympics really gave us a taste of a friendlier, more fun London – so we’re trying to bottle that, for the good of singles all round the city.

“This is a fantastic place to live. I’ve loved every second since I moved here. The one thing that’s missing is to be able to combine a great night out with a cheeky dose of flirting and maybe more. We hope that events where you can bring along your mates will help take the pressure off. Best of all, you don’t even need to create a profile – for once!”
