Troy, Michigan (PRWEB) January 24, 2013
The State Champs Sports Network (SCSN) will unveil an exciting new program at 5 p.m. on Feb. 2, 2013, focused on National Signing Day for high school football players from Michigan. The State Champs Signing Day Special Presented by Lawrence Tech University will air concurrently on CW50 in the Detroit area and WOTV-ABC in Grand Rapids. The program will re-air on Comcast 900 with dates and times TBD.
Designed to provide statewide prep football fans, “recruitniks,” student-athletes and their friends and families with expert insight prior to Signing Day on Feb. 6, the show will be true to the mission of the SCSN of showcasing high school sports in Michigan with coverage of college decisions from football players in addition to features on other prep sports to include boys’ soccer, volleyball and cross country.
“State Champs Sports Network is about all high school sports in Michigan and National Signing Day for prep football is of huge interest to our audience,” said Lou Bitonti, State Champs Sports Network president. “We have listened to our audience and assembled an outstanding group of prep football experts who are extremely familiar with both the players and colleges in Michigan and across the Midwest.”
The SCSN Signing Day show will use a panel of experts on an interactive, social-media connected dual-set who will discuss the colleges that players may sign with and their decision rationale to include those who have verbally committed. Video highlights of the players will be interspersed with the discussion.
The show experts are a mix of print and broadcast prep sports media veterans: the program hosts will be Lorne Plant and Tom Markowski (Detroit News) of SCSN, with analysis from Kyle Bogenschutz and Sam Webb of GoBlueWolverine.com; National Recruiting Analyst and Midwest Regional Manager for Fox Sports NEXT Allen Trieu; Scott Burnstein of the Oakland Press and MiPrepCentral and Rico Beard of SpartanMag.com. Ryan Terpstra of SCSN will also present a feature story on the successes of boys soccer and girls volleyball from this past fall in Western Michigan.
The SCSN Signing Day show is an integral component of a 2013 launch of new SCSN programming and sub-branding to include feature shows on ‘Rivals,” “Legends” and other topics. The Signing Day show is also an initial element in SCSN’s aggressive and strategic new market growth to include Grand Rapids and other outstate Michigan markets.
