Redwood City, CA (PRWEB) January 24, 2013

UBIC North America, Inc., a provider of full-spectrum eDiscovery and digital forensics solutions and services for corporations and law firms, has announced version 6.0 of its Lit i View ™ eDiscovery solution, which accurately handles English and Asian-language characters, encoding schemes and native file systems.

The new Lit i View v6.0 features fall broadly into three categories - performance improvement for work processes, advanced technology functions for cost reduction and better QoR (Quality of Results). These features are intended to add significant value to eDiscovery solution offering because of our world-class technology, research and development teams’ hard work and pursuit of maintaining technology edge over competition on some of the popular topics such as predictive coding being frequently discussed on the eDiscovery circuit.

“UBIC as a technology-driven company is committed to and continues to reflect the market demands in our product roadmap.” said UBIC, Inc.’s Founder and CEO, Mr. Masahiro Morimoto. “Our goal is to provide advanced eDiscovery solutions beneficial to our clients for both their preventive and litigation legal strategies.”

Summary of Lit i View v6.0 Features:

CJK TAR: UBIC’s advanced predictive coding technology enables the automated identification of relevant text in multiple languages, reducing the number of steps in the review process and thereby providing significant savings in time and cost of document review. UBIC’s predictive coding technology uses intelligent data mining algorithms to leverage the intelligence of expert reviewers.

  • Progressive Prediction Analyzer*:

Prediction Analyzer function automates the single-pass predictive coding process, wherein it dynamically incorporates the review results into training data/ seed set and increasing both the precision and recall rates

  • Weight Refinement*: (Auto-ranking Optimization)

Weight refinement function enables improving the precision of Predictive Coding. With conventional Predictive Coding, the weightage of key words contained in the training data were calculated from a one-dimensional perspective, but Weight Refinement incorporates a logic which calculates the weightage of the key words from a multi-dimensional perspective, improving the precision of the weightage mechanism. As a result, the recall rate of the Predictive Coding is improved to more than 90%.

UBIC’s predictive coding technology (CJK TAR) in conjunction with its patent-pending clustering feature enhances the efficiency of review work with a better starting point.

  • Patents are pending for both Progressive Prediction Analyzer and Weight Refinement

Litigation Hold: Preventing Claims of Spoliation

This function enables integrated management of the notifications and history of litigation/ legal holds of custodians involved in multiple litigations, and the sharing of information among departments. It supports improved work efficiency in litigation holds by improving the cumbersome work of identifying custodians.

Palette Structure:

Auto-Grouping of similar documents into Folders
This new function in Lit i View v6.0 analyzes and sorts post-processing data into appropriate folders for review, whereby it improves work efficiency during the process of migrating from processing and analysis to review.
