Accel Networks announced today that George Acker has been named Senior Vice President of Business Markets reporting to Elaine Healy, Chief Operating Officer. Acker brings more than 15 years of telecommunications experience to Accel Networks including expertise in sales architecture, new business development, market expansion, strategic selling in complex enterprise engagements and a deep understanding of communication, continuity and security solutions.

Acker will take the helm of the company’s sales division including channel, direct and strategic accounts. “George has joined us at a tipping point in the industry. The rapid deployment of LTE combined with Accel’s patented Maestro™ smart antenna and management system delivers throughput and stability that supports a wide array of complex applications creating tremendous opportunity. George will be instrumental in taking this transformational solution to the enterprise market space that he knows so well,” commented Mark Gianinni, Accel CEO.

Most recently, Acker held the position of VP Enterprise Sales at MegaPath Inc. (Pleasanton CA), where he was responsible for a $50 million division focused on multi-location national account business in the retail sector during the past two years. In 2008, he founded See3 Technologies, a consultancy focusing on loss prevention, energy, cost reduction and IT security solutions for retailers after a five-year stint with Cybera Inc. (Nashville TN). As Director of Sales at Cybera, Acker was instrumental in refocusing sales efforts toward retail ready networks transitioning the client base from SMB to the enterprise space and growing revenues to over $30 million.
