Several traumatic, but on the whole rewarding, years had passed since scientists Chester Gilliland and Bruce Crook had discovered an amazing anomaly during an experiment in enhanced radar detection for the British Ministry of Defence (MoD). The anomaly they uncovered during the experiments could, in the right hands, do many things to help mankind but in the wrong hands could destroy it in its entirety. However, Colin Wilson, a rogue British politician continues relentlessly with his devious quest to take control of this new and potentially world destroying technology kept safe by Gilliland and Crook on a remote mid-atlantic island.

Retrogenesis 2, book two in a science based thriller series written by Robert Swann tells the continuing story of Chester Gilliland and Bruce Crook after their nerve-wracking escape from the hands of Colin Wilson, the DDP (Director of Defence Projects) an unprincipled rogue adviser to the British Ministry of Defence. They took their technology, for safe keeping, to the Azores Island of Flores and from this location, the two scientists and reformed soldier of fortune Silas Pettit with his partner Juilietta Gray were joined by Penny Caine, Gilliland’s beautiful childhood sweetheart, and now his constant companion. From their base on Flores, they developed what had been until then an embryonic plan for creating a new island home using their stunning technology which enabled them also to gather together an alternative society which would help to ensure the safe use of their technology.

Rival powers desperately crave possession of the power enhancing technology and attempt to intimidate the small island into submission by using military muscle. The Islanders are driven to use their peaceful technology as a dramatic weapon of defence but will this paradox fulfil their dreams or will it become their nightmare?

Retrogenesis 2 is a compelling sophisticated thriller that will remind everyone of man’s continuous greed for power, of battles between grasping governments and rogues and the will of those who care deeply for humanity and what’s good for them.

About the Author
Born and educated in the London borough of Hillingdon, Robert Swann started his professional life as a student civil engineer in the Atomic Power Division of a major British Engineering Company. After three years in this environment, he decided that the constraints of formal engineering were not for him and opted for the more open arena of logistics, which, at that time, was virtually unexplored – except by the military establishments. Progressing through general management and directorships along his chosen path, he ventured into the field of logistics management consultancy, first, with a British company and then as vice president of an American consulting group in their London office. Ultimately, he bought out the London practice and formed a close friendship and a joint working agreement with an American business entrepreneur, and they have worked together collectively and separately in around forty different countries.
