The book Diaries of an English Rogue Abroad by Kevin Courtney (born and bred in Lincoln) is an autobiography of his exciting and free-spirited world adventures. This is also the author’s memoriam after his unforgettable and unexpected demise in November 1998. The author’s family wanted to publish this book to relive the blissful and exhilarating moments Courtney had shared with the world.

Courtney was a born traveller. He wanted to experience the world and witness its myriad of traditions and cultures. He longed to visit peculiar places that people can only imagine in their dreams. Through his exhilarating journey, he always kept a diary full of colorful and bright pictures that he enjoyed sending to his parents. In his early years, he had already experienced travelling from India to Asia and Australia to New Zealand then onto Northern America. He had also trekked the dangerous Darien Gap Jungle. A huge risk taker and a go getter that he was, Courtney always wanted to see the world in different perspective and witness its grandeur through his very own eyes.

Diaries of an English Rogue Abroad also shows the author’s own write-ups that will reflect his far from boring personality and his witty and very amusing antics. This narrative will depict Courtney’s great sense for adventure, the risks he was willing to take, the treacherous gambles he had to make and the fearless and gallant situations he had to face.

Through the pages of this book, readers will become inspired by Courtney’s memorable journey. It is a perfect example of a humble man’s search for happiness and fulfillment. Furthermore, in this heartrending and inspiring picture book, readers will begin to unravel that amidst life’s many circumstances, it is still, after all, a destination worth going.
