BIP-6000MaxID

The BIP-6000MaxID is a rugged Android (AOSP) device supporting RFID and barcode scanning.

Harmony, PA (PRWEB) January 30, 2013

SDG Systems, LLC announced today the enhancement of its Android (AOSP) 2.3 release to support new Bluebird Pidion BIP-6000Max models. The new BIP-6000MaxID models support low frequency (LF) and ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID). The BIP-6000MaxGrip models support 1D and 2D barcode scanning functionality. Each of the new Pidion BIP-6000 models has a pistol trigger grip. This software release extends the existing Android (AOSP) support that SDG Systems has been providing for the Pidion BIP-6000 series of data collectors since 2010.

With these new rugged, mobile RFID and barcode solutions on Android (AOSP), enterprise customers will be able to experience a new level of functionality and efficiency with their data collecting solutions. Expected RFID applications include Industrial and Animal Identification, Field Service, Manufacturing, Warehouse and Inventory Management, Patient Management, Pharmaceuticals, Fleet Management, Waste and Recycle Management and others. Existing and new Android applications may utilize the built-in keyboard wedge functionality or Android’s NFC programming interface.

The UHF RFID reader supports a region-selectable frequency range of 840 MHz to 960 MHz and reads ISO 18000-6C (EPC C1G2) and ISO 18000-6B tags. The LF RFID model supports 125 kHz and 134.2 kHz frequencies and the reading of ISO 11784, ISO 11785, ISO 18000-2 tags. The software update from SDG Systems also provides enhancements to 1D and 2D barcode scanning, and support for a new cellular modem (Cinterion PHS-8P). Other standard or optional features of the BIP-6000 with Android (AOSP) include HF RFID (13.56 MHz), 802.11 Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, camera, cellular phone and data support, and an all-day battery.
