7 Mile House

7 Mile House has brought attention to our city, bringing visitors to our area, and serves us well as the gateway into Brisbane.

Brisbane, CA (PRWEB) February 04, 2013

7 Mile House Sports Bar & Grill, one of the oldest bars in the San Francisco Bay Area and the only "mile house" left standing in its original location, is celebrating 160 years of business since it opened its doors in 1853. The venue's transformation from stagecoach stop, pony express route, brothel, biker and trucker hangout, and infamous sports gambling den to a lively sports bar and live music venue demonstrates 7 Mile House's resilience through the decades.

"It's an honor to preserve the history of 7 Mile House and celebrate 160 years of this establishment's endurance through the ups and downs of the economy," Vanessa Garcia Villacarlos, owner of 7 Mile House, said. "We're proud to have become a place for sports fans to cheer on our home teams, and provide a space to support local musicians and entertainers."

"7 Mile House has brought attention to our city, bringing visitors to our area, and serves us well as the gateway into Brisbane. Owner Vanessa Garcia Villacarlos and her crew have turned around this historic gem by revitalizing the venue, and more importantly, the community that surrounds it," Clarke Conway, City of Brisbane Mayor Pro Tem, said.

The historic restaurant will celebrate this important milestone of Bay Area history by serving one of its most popular items on the menu, pork adobo with rice, for free from noon to 7 p.m. on Feb. 6 (while supplies last). 7 Mile House is also giving away a commemorative anniversary T-shirt to the first 100 patrons. Customers will also enjoy live entertainment during the day, featuring popular party band, LP Band, and karaoke hosted by locally acclaimed karaoke jockey Glenny Kravitz from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
