Houston, TX (PRWEB) February 05, 2013

It is once again tax season, which means millions of Americans are trying to claim a bigger refund by listing every possible deduction. To help, Top Tax Defenders has released a free eBook which attempts to do exactly that: list every possible deduction.

The eBook, titled "The Ultimate List of Tax Deductions: 333 Personal and Business Tax Deductions You Can't Afford to Ignore," is designed to save taxpayers time while making them aware of deductions or tax credits that they may qualify for.

"The U.S. Tax Code and IRS regulations are so long and complex that the average taxpayer can't afford to read and digest it all," explained Teresa Pitre, CEO of Top Tax Defenders. "This eBook simply takes the information spread throughout thousands of pages of legal code and condenses it into a few pages."

Ms. Pitre, who formerly spent 27 years working for the Internal Revenue Service, noted that the IRS itself does not provide a single centralized list all of its deductions.

"This eBook does not go into all of the details on how to claim every deduction," Pitre continued. "That is what the IRS regulations do, and is the reason why they are so long. But 'The Ultimate List of Tax Deductions' allows people to see what deductions are available, and then get the specific details on relevant deductions from the IRS or their tax preparation professional."

The 333 tax deductions include many common expenses, such as mortgage interest payments, school tuition and charitable donations. Some deductions, however, are much more specialized or obscure. Examples include deductions for the cost of lead-based paint removal, dog food for guide animals, or whaling expenses. The latter only applies to subsistence bowhead whale hunters who are sanctioned by the Alaska Eskimo Whaling Commission.

"We don't see that one very often," admitted Pitre.
