Columbus, Ohio (PRWEB) February 04, 2013
Salon Lofts has targeted the greater Cleveland market for the most recent and aggressive expansion of its unique salon concept that gives beauty professionals the location, tools and support to operate their own businesses.
The Columbus-based company presently has 31 locations nationwide, with more than 700 loft owners operating independent businesses within the stores. Salon Lofts provides loft space for beauty professionals who want to operate an independent business and nurture their own client relationships. Loft owners rent space and are given access to software tools and platforms for scheduling, marketing and growing their businesses.
Salon Lofts’ unique differentiator, the ability for beauty professionals to be loft owners in a high-end salon environment, is new to the Cleveland market and presents an opportunity for experienced beauty professionals to take their careers in a new direction.
Two Cleveland locations opened in late 2012; One in Mentor and the second in Woodmere. The following locations are slated to open in April 2013: Shaker Town Center, Corporate Park of Beachwood and ACME Montrose Plaza in Bath. The Cleveland locations will have on average 23 lofts each for experienced beauty professionals seeking the freedom and simplicity to grow their own businesses. All Cleveland locations have a limited level of availability for loft space.
“Based on our intimate familiarity with the Cleveland market, the beauty professional community is ready to embrace the Salon Lofts concept as a progressive alternative to more traditional ways of working within this highly competitive industry,” explained Salon Lofts CEO Daniel Sadd. “We empower beauty professionals by giving them complete freedom to own and operate their businesses without the inherent risks. We’re confident this is an approach that will be welcomed by beauty professionals and clients in Cleveland as it has been in other markets.”
Unlike traditional salons in which a stylist is employed by the shop owner or rents a booth in the shop, beauty professionals rent space from Salon Lofts, allowing them to then run their own business with minimal risk. The professionals set their own schedules, establish their own pricing, create their own product offerings and, most importantly, keep all profits. Salon Lofts equips its loft owners with state-of-the-art technology and online tools to market themselves and build their clientele.
In addition, Salon Lofts provides consumers with access to a web application known as “Open Chair,” a value-added benefit that enables customers to pick a beauty professional based on location, service or price, and to compare service providers, view testimonials or make suggestions. Consumers can even book appointments online through Open Chair. No one in the industry offers a comparable tool.
The success of the loft concept and tools is evident in the retention rate of Salon Lofts beauty professionals. Nine of every 10 beauty professionals stay beyond their lease term to remain as a loft owner.
Cleveland is just one of five markets in which Salon Lofts operates today. The others include Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio; Tampa Bay and Indianapolis. Including Cleveland, the company expects to open 15 to 20 new stores in 2013.
