There are now 100’s of Pinterest clone sites, but very few Pinterest inspired sites that offer something unique. Our approach is to build a product that is catered toward gamers and geeks.

The way gamers and geeks share and read articles has changed with the launch of gpin, the highly anticipated new social bookmarking site developed by MMO Attack that focuses on gaming and geek culture. Gpin is the Pinterest for gamers, gadgets and geek and solves the difficult problem of keeping track of all the articles, products, games and news that we encounter on a daily basis.
Gpin was developed from the ground up with the intent of making it a one stop shop for gamers to keep track of everything they love on the web. Unlike a lot of Pinterest clone sites, gpin's focus is on the niche market of everything the modern geek wants to share.
“There are now 100’s of Pinterest clone sites, but very few Pinterest inspired sites that offer something unique. Our approach is to build a product that is catered toward gamers and geeks," said Kirk Wallace, Digital Content Manager for gpin. “We want to attract a larger game audience. Gpin.com is being built for the casual gamer as much as it is for the hardcore, for the console gamer as much as it is for the mobile, for the female gamer as much as the male.”
Americans spend $16 billion a year on computer and video games. But in the industry that was once dominated by male players, female gamers are the fastest growing demographic of video game players. Forty-seven percent of all players are women, and women over 18 years of age are one of the industry's fastest growing demographics.
"When developing gpin, we asked ourselves how do people take in their content? We are a visual species and looking at the popularity of a site like Pinterest, which is by and large dominated by women, we saw that there was opening to bring that to gamers," explained Kyle Barber, Lead Developer for gpin. " We took this into consideration when building gpin.com and we believe this model will dominate the design landscape in the future, as well as appeal to men as much as it does to women.”
Users can join gpin using their Facebook or Google accounts and begin using the service immediately. Pinning a post is easy using the Add Pin button on the top right or the custom designed bookmarklet that offers one-click publishing of anything found across the web. Gpin is in its beta phase and is asking that users submit any and all feedback to the developers so they can expand the reach and usability of their product. MMO Attack sees this as a viable distribution method for releasing gaming related content and has already seen an increase in other gaming sites like xmmorpg, muchmoregaming, mmohut and thinkgeek using the service.
Founded in 2013 by a group of developers, entrepreneurs and social media experts from San Diego, CA, gpin is a social sharing/bookmarking site that specializes in all things gaming, gadgets and geek. The site offers a fun and easy way to share and organize all of the interesting things we all find on the web. Use gpin to share a new story, organize and collect bookmarks, and discuss and comment on other users' content. Gpin wants you to discover new things and get inspired by people who share your interests.
