“Our hope is that we can keep the momentum going past 2013 to make volunteerism a cornerstone of our business, and inspire others to do the same.”
New York, NY (PRWEB) February 05, 2013
F-O-R-T-U-N-E Personnel Consultants (FPC), a national executive search firm, today announced a nationwide program of community service initiatives to support the volunteer efforts of its individual franchise offices. Although the program will last throughout the year, offices are focusing on Pay it Forward February as a way to accomplish as much community service as possible during the month of February to move FPC closer to the 2013 goal.
Ron Herzog, CEO & President of FPC, said “Our franchise owners have volunteered their time in the past in their own communities and were interested in a national framework that could magnify the benefits of their activities for the causes they care about. FPC’s Pay it Forward program provides support for their individual efforts and the leverage of a national organization to maximize the benefits to their communities of all of our volunteer initiatives.”
Volunteer activities are chosen by the individual offices and supported by FPC National. Activities already underway include pro bono recruiting for non-profit organizations, Hurricane Sandy cleanup, laying holiday wreathes on the graves of soldiers, local Angel Tree programs that provide holiday gifts for children of inmates, packing backpacks with weekend food for kids who receive subsidized school lunches, volunteering at local food pantries and packing international food shipments, transporting leftover restaurant food to soup kitchens, building bikes for underprivileged children, and Salvation Army bell ringing. Some FPC offices will be holding local events to provide resume and interviewing help for out-of-work members of their communities.
“Pay it Forward has gotten off to a great start. We planned our major push for February, but our offices were inspired by our national conference in November where we built bikes for underprivileged children in New Orleans and put in many volunteer hours in December and January,” said Herzog. “Our hope is that we can keep the momentum going past 2013 to make volunteerism a cornerstone of our business, and inspire others to do the same.”
