Door64, the premier influencer group for technology professionals in Central Texas, has seen Austin’s future, and it is well beyond the recognized boundaries of software and hardware that represent its past. Austin is now home to a growing community of professionals in all of the STEM professions, including clean energy, biotechnology, digital media, wireless technologies, and more. With the influx of exciting new companies and a growing need for specialized professionals, door64 is broadening its scope to highlight the variety of new job opportunities in Austin, and to offer opportunities to learn about the exciting new fields growing in Austin. As part of its new focus, door64 is launching a new series of speaker events to engage and activate the STEM Professional community to come together, learn about current trends in the STEM fields, network, and find companies that are hiring for all kinds of STEM-related positions.
“We are showcasing the most exciting speakers from the most exciting companies growing in Austin,” said Kim Brushaber, VP of Programs. “We will have some of the most cutting edge topics and speakers to energize the community to come out and learn something new and create a bridge across industries and professions.”
The first event in the new speaker series is the STEM Professional Fair, scheduled for February 15th at the Norris Conference Center. The event will provide attendees an opportunity to hear from terrific speakers including Mitch Jacobson, of the Austin Technology Incubator’s Clean Energy Incubator, and Melyssa Fratkin of the Texas Advanced Computing Center. Additional speaker topics will include Biometrics, Encryption Technologies, Avionics, Nanotechnology and more. The event is designed to bring out all kinds of professionals to network and learn about new topics, as well as those who may be looking to move up in their field or perhaps find out about new career opportunities in related fields.
