Stanton Advanced Ceramics, Inc. was founded in 2001 to create high performance ceramic technologies that have the potential to become a new standard in refractory linings for furnaces in the aluminum, steel, glass, cement and other high temperature processing industries.
The first material emerging from this technology is FireSlayer®. When used as a high performance lining plate on traditional refractory material, Stanton’s FireSlayer® offers furnaces greatly enhanced corrosion, thermal shock and high temperature resistance, as well as superior thermal insulation. The result for the user is decreased furnace downtime, substantially increased revenues (due to lower downtimes), meaningful labor cost savings and lower energy costs. Industries which melt high temperature materials use FireSlayer® to realize all of these benefits and remain the most competitive. View test results and technical details at Lot#1207.
The portfolio includes four U.S. Patents titled “Thermal Shock Resistant Ceramic Composites” and one pending U.S. Patent Application titled “Composition Useful As Mortar Or Coatings Refractories”. The U.S. Trademark, FireSlayer® and two foreign patents issued in China and India are also available. All patents may be viewed as filed by visiting the Lot#1207. Links are provided to the patents and trademark filings at the U.S. PTO, as well as China and India.
An example of steel applications where performance is improved is in the 310C (coating) for the Protection of Magnesium - Carbon (Mg-C) bricks in production steel ladles. In aluminium alloy processing the technology showed excellent resistance to aluminium penetration in a 1000 hour superheat test at Missouri Science and Technology University, and resistance to corrosion in a severe alloy test at Case Western Reserve University. Key technical personnel of the Stanton technical staff are available for consultation on a contract basis.
