Today, Sensr.net announces its Open H.264 initiative and developer program. Starting today, Sensr.net enables off-the-shelf H.264 Wireless IP-Camera support for select cameras from D-Link and Trendnet, and also announces its Video Upload Apps in the Apple App Store for on-the-go video streaming.
Sensr.net is the interoperable streaming and storage solution for manufacturers and developers of H.264 surveillance IP-Cameras. Sensr.net is opening the specifications of its API services for account creation, device discovery and video data uploading. With its Open APIs, Sensr.net is enabling a diverse ecosystem of video sensing devices aimed at the consumer.
Through open protocols and specifications, off-the-shelf IP-Cameras can send H.264 video via FTP directly to Sensr.net with no modification to their firmware. New Mac OSX and Apple iOS Apps from Sensr.net can provision built-in webcams as Sensr.net surveillance cameras. With easy set up, these apps turn your laptop or tablet into an on-the-go surveillance solution. SensrISight for Mac connects a laptop webcam to the Sensr.net cloud. Sensr VCam for iPhone enables an iPhone as a streaming video source integrated with Sensr.net. With Sensr.net, video data from multiple sources is aggregated into the Sensr.net cockpit for easy navigation and review from one place.
To kick off official H.264 support, Sensr.net has written a detailed guide on how to setup a D-Link DCS-942L with the Sensr.net H.264 video architecture.
Sensr.net Open H.264 APIs and Specifications enable 3rd-party developers to connect to the Sensr.net cloud. Through its open protocols, Sensr.net is enabling an ecosystem of H.264 devices sourced from multiple vendors. This multi-provider approach allows each to excel in their own feature set. Sensr.net will manage video from devices optimized for encoding quality, battery life, useability, or the physical security of the camera device itself. Sensr.net is the interoperable H.264 cloud solution for all of these requirements.
Sensr.net is offering information to IP-Camera manufacturers about its H.264 Camera SDK upon request at info(at)sensr(dot)net. Public API documentation is being made available at sensr.net/api. The Sensr.net H.264 IP-Camera Video Architecture white paper describes the overall H.264 Cloud Architecture.
