Just as each person is unique, so is each person’s relationship with God and how they communicate with him.

Ever since a spiritual workshop opened his heart, author Norman Reuter has felt compelled to share his faith in God. Those who have tried moving from one church to another, joining Bible study, yoga, meditation or reading religious books might need to take a new approach to living faithfully. In this new book, Reuter offers spiritual messages aimed at giving readers direction in their lives. As Reuter points out, just as each person is unique, so is each person’s relationship with God and how they communicate with him.
“Messages from the Father” contains spiritual writings Reuter says he received from God. Imagine his surprise several years ago when he heard these words in his head: “Hi. I’m your Father. I haven’t heard from you too much lately, so I thought I’d drop you a note.” Reuter never knows if the next message will come when he’s working at home or even driving his car. He notes that prayer is one form of communication but urges the faithful to listen to God’s messages; communication is not a one-way street.
Each selection includes a preface providing context or an anecdote related to the message, as well as advice on interpreting it. A message on loving people in spite of themselves includes this plea: “Your time is short – make the most of it by loving one another as I have loved you.” Messages include the importance of daily communication with God, making the most of God-given talent, being thankful for blessings, and sharing love with the world. A message to inspire those with low self-worth contains this inspiring thought: “The good Lord has created us and each one of us is a part of His puzzle. If we were not there, the puzzle would be incomplete.” This collection of messages, designed to be shared, will inspire those with a strong faith as well as those still seeking spiritual guidance.
A three-day spiritual retreat known as a Catholic Cursillo weekend led to amazing things for author Norman Reuter, who lives in a northwest suburb of Chicago. Reuter, who is semi-retired, has five children and five grandchildren. He is involved with the Kairos Prison Ministry, which serves those who are incarcerated as well as prison staff.
