Kia Unveils Cross GT Concept Hybrid
Korean automaker Kia unveiled a striking, copper-colored hybrid concept at the Chicago Auto Show this week. The Cross GT features a sloping roof and an innovative interior design that could become the company’s first foray into the luxury vehicle segment. A V6, 3.8-liter engine propels the gas-electric hybrid, which has the ability to drive for 20 miles on nothing but electricity. The concept features skylights and rear-hinged doors among its many unique styling flourishes. Kia has not released mileage data for the car. For the complete story, see:

Chicago Auto Show Opens
Boasting massive floor space and several model debuts, the Chicago Auto Show will open its doors to the public from Feb. 9 through Feb. 18. Larger than the Detroit Auto Show, though technically not considered one of the world’s major auto events, the Chicago show nevertheless makes the most of its gigantic floor space. This year the CAS will feature the unveiling of the flashy new hybrid Kia Cross GT, the Chevy Cruze Diesel, Ram ProMaster, and the Toyota Tundra. More a consumer show than an industry event, CAS occupies Chicago’s McCormick Place, a sprawling architectural wonder that hosts some of the nation’s largest trade shows and entertainment events.
