NitroDesk, the makers of TouchDown, the industry-leading Microsoft® Exchange ActiveSync solution for iOS and Android-powered devices, announced the availability of their popular TouchDown email client for Windows and Windows/RT devices.

TouchDown on Windows is a Microsoft® Exchange ActiveSync client that can connect to servers running a compatible protocol. It provides access to the user’s Emails, Contacts, Calendars, Tasks and Notes* on a single unified user interface, making it easy for the user to switch between these views and perform operations on them in one single seamless experience.

TouchDown also allows the user to configure several parameters that control the user experience as well as the synchronization behavior. While future versions may provide additional functionality such as sending and receiving SMIME as well as IRM protected emails, the current version provides a compelling email experience, enabling the user to perform most common activities from a touch-friendly Metro interface.

“We are very excited to extend the benefits of TouchDown to the Windows 8 and Windows RT platforms. Microsoft’s ActiveSync technology and integrations with Microsoft IRM and our encryption technology allows IT to ensure the security of corporate data on deployed Windows devices, including devices, which have not been traditionally thought of as “Mobile”.

The line has clearly blurred between a traditional workstation and the way information workers use their devices in an enterprise environment, so extending TouchDown’s security, manageability and usability features to the Windows™ platform can give enterprise customers tremendous piece-of-mind.” says Ron Goins, Chief Operating Officer of NitroDesk Inc.

TouchDown for Windows also honors Exchange ActiveSync Policies such as PIN protection of the corporate data as well as encryption of data at rest for all the data that was received from the corporate server, effectively providing a secure container for corporate email on portable Windows 8 and Windows RT devices.

TouchDown is available in the Windows Store, and has a 30-day trial period after which it can be purchased directly from the Store.

TouchDown brings your email, contacts, calendar, tasks and notes into a single app. You can synchronize mail from your Exchange server to your Windows 8 device without affecting data the native apps, as TouchDown uses its own database for Exchange data.

System Requirements
TouchDown requires Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 SP2 or later and is works with hosted exchange environments such as Office365.
