Within the pages of Charles Gary Godwin’s new book, Transplanting Faith: Portrait of a Miracle ($12.99, paperback, 978-1-62509-206-9; $6.99, e-book, 978-1-62509-207-6) readers will learn how organ donation and transplant surgery offer hope for critically ill patients. Through the loss and heartbreak associated with a loved one’s death, survival through transplant becomes an option for a stranger. The author expresses that this is “new life donated in exchange for a life surrendered.”
When asked what was the single most important thing about this book, the author simply stated, “Believe,” he continues “I trust the book reflects belief in Hebrews 11:1, plus a belief that miracles exist and also an awareness of the presence of personal angels.”
Gary Godwin works with Christian Copyright Solutions, a copyright compliance organization founded by his wife Susan. An early broadcasting career brought him to the Mobile (AL) Bay area where he worked for a local CBS affiliate and began an avocation as a public address announcer. Today he continues that enjoyment as P.A. announcer for the University of South Alabama basketball and baseball teams. He also served leadership roles during multiple spiritual weekends and has co-led courses in the spiritual aspects of personal finances in his home church. He doesn’t consider himself an IPF authority but does bring first hand knowledge of what is involved in the lung transplant process. And he is grateful!
