Denver, CO (PRWEB) February 15, 2013
When Initiative 502 passed in WA last year, nobody quite understood how it would be implemented. So, the WA State Liquor Control Board knew it would be in the best interest of the people to hold interactive forums around the state. And that’s just what it did.
So what has the board been hearing so far at these public forums and, as importantly, what effect will the passing of I-502 have on the already established Medical Marijuana businesses in WA?
"How the state implements I-502 could have an incredible impact on the already legal Medical Marijuana industry in WA and in the other MMJ states," said Amy Poinsett, CEO and co-founder of MJ Freeway Software Solutions. "We need to follow the implementation process closely so we can fully understand those ramifications."
To answer those important questions, MJ Freeway Software is presenting another of its’ free Educational Series Webinars to be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 10:00am PST and entitled, "I-502 Passed. So, Now What". The guest speaker for this informative session will be Hilary Bricken with the Canna Law Group in Seattle.
Regarded as one of Washington State's premier cannabis business attorneys, Ms. Bricken helps MMJ companies of all sizes with everything from corporate structure and intellectual property protection to branding, licensing, and medical cannabis law. Ms. Bricken's primary focus is helping cannabis access points navigate the increasingly confusing and murky legal climate surrounding MMJ. She has represented clients struggling with a host of common problems in the industry, from business license denials, revocations, and injunctions to land-use disputes and moratoriums on cannabis businesses. She has also been involved in 280e tax reform and routinely participates in community education panels to continue to inform industry participants about the current and changing MMJ laws in Washington State.
In addition to providing an update on the I-502 public hearing sessions, Ms. Bricken will address what impact, if any, the passing of I-502 will have on the already legal Medical Marijuana industry in WA.
Opening comments will be delivered by Amy Poinsett, Co-Founder and CEO of MJ Freeway Software.
