Providence, RI (PRWEB) February 27, 2013
Vector Software, the leading provider of dynamic software testing solutions for embedded systems, announced today the integration of its VectorCAST embedded software test platform with the Rational RequisitePro requirements management tool from IBM.
Rational RequisitePro is an easy to use requirements management tool that lets teams author and share their requirements using familiar document-based methods while leveraging database-enabled capabilities such as requirements traceability and impact analysis.
Through a simple and intuitive interface, engineers can quickly and easily link requirements to VectorCAST test cases using VectorCAST/RGW (Requirements Gateway). With VectorCAST/RGW, developers can import software requirements and associate them directly to: test cases, code coverage metrics, and pass/fail reports. This mapping can then be pushed back to the Rational RequisitePro tool for complete traceability.
The VectorCAST for RequisitePro integration also eases compliance by reducing the amount of time and effort spent to meet industry regulations such as DO-178 (Avionics), IEC 61508 (Functional Safety), IEC 62304 (Medical) and ISO 26262 (Automotive), generating full traceability and status reports
"Today, requirements traceability, data analysis, and reporting are critical components in the development process. Organizations expect requirements management to be a seamless process within their development environment”, said Bill McCaffrey, Chief Operating Officer at Vector Software. “The RequisitePro integration was developed on request and provides our customers with another powerful and intuitive way to manage requirements with test data and fits perfectly into their existing development workflow.
