Ms. Gaz previously worked as a content developer for Earth Restoration Industries, where she helped local Portland businesses integrate their sustainability message into their overall marketing strategy. Prior to working at Earth Restoration Industries, she was an AmeriCorps community involvement specialist for Metropolitan Family Service where she developed and delivered leadership and organic gardening classes. Her commitment to sustainability is embodied in her role as the community garden manager for Frazer Park gardens where she helps build community around organic gardening.
EAI’s education department provides courses taught by experts in the built environment to real estate professionals, contractors, architects and green building consultants. Course topics range from advanced building science and deconstruction to marketing, selling, financing, and appraising green homes. As an education specialist, Ms. Gaz will be coordinating and performing outreach for the S.T.A.R. (Sustainability Training for Accredited Real Estate Professionals) certification course, CakeSystems™ training, Introduction to EPS training, the Deconstruction and Reuse course, and Earth Advantage Commercial Provider training. According to Director of Education and Associate Executive Director Angela Schmiede, “Carina brings the perfect blend of marketing outreach, curriculum development and commitment to sustainability to this position.
