(PRWEB) February 20, 2013
CAPA International Education is pleased to announce the launch of a new Global Cities study abroad program in Dublin, or the CAPA Dublin Program, in conjunction with Griffith College Dublin. The new program will be available to students beginning in the fall semester of 2013.
Dublin was chosen as CAPA’s next global city because it’s an historical center of education, arts, economy and industry, with a rich history and continued importance in the development of global thinking. As one of eight global cities in seven countries that CAPA offers to students, Dublin provides students the opportunity to study, explore, and discover trends that are multi-layered, multi-dimensional, complex and challenging.
The CAPA Dublin Program offers U.S. undergraduates a diverse range of courses at Griffith College, as well as CAPA’s signature courses: Analyzing and Exploring the Global City: Dublin, Gaelic Language, Cinema in Contemporary Ireland, and Learning Through Internships: Dublin (for those who are doing an internship.) All credits are semester credits and issued through CAPA's School of Record Agreement with the State University of New York at Oswego.
The courses offered at Griffith College are organized within four tracks or themes. Students will be able to choose courses across these suggested tracks subject to timetabling, pre-requisites and availability:
The CAPA Dublin Program costs $14,999 for the semester program or $7,699 for the summer program. Students receive 12-18 academic credits for the semester programs or 6-9 credits for the summer term, and 3-6 credits for an optional internship. The cost includes shared accommodations at Griffith College’s residential flats; a half day tour of Dublin; a full day tour to Belfast including transportation, guide and entrances to the Titanic exhibition; social events; access to Griffith College’s Student Union; MyEducation Dublin (CAPA’s unique learning immersion program); medical, travel and accident insurance; and CAPA Dublin student services and support.
“Griffith College is very pleased to enter into this affiliation with CAPA International Education,” said Dr. Diarmuid Hegarty, President of Griffith College Dublin. “Through CAPA, American college students will be able to enroll in our academically-rigorous classes in the intimate campus environment that is Griffith College. Our students, faculty, and staff look forward to welcoming CAPA students to our campus!”
John Christian, President and CEO of CAPA International Education remarked: "We are delighted to add Dublin as our newest global city program. Through our affiliation with Griffith College and long standing relationship with SUNY Oswego, CAPA now offers our partner institutions and students the opportunity to explore this rich urban landscape through a thematically rich curriculum and experiential learning."
