Panoptic Development Inc is pleased to announce that we have partnered with Lifespan to build a Health Assessment Web Portal to support Lifespan’s Project LAUNCH initiative. The web-based assessment portal allows patients to participate in medical assessments and lets hospital administrators easily manage the assessment data. The Health Assessment Web Portal has been in use for several months increasing patient care and physician efficiency.

Benefits:

  • Reduces human error
  • Data analysis at your fingers
  • Streamlines the process
  • Instantaneous assessment results for the physician
  • Results available to be part of the patient’s electronic medical record
  • Framework is extensible, currently used at Lifespan for two different projects

Lifespan has been participating in Project LAUNCH since 2008. Project LAUNCH seeks to promote the wellness of young children birth to age eight. Project LAUNCH aims to have all young children reach their developmental potential, enter school ready to learn, and experience success in the early grades.

Lifespan uses the ASQ-3, ASQ-SE and ECSA assessments to help gauge the emotional and developmental progress of their Project LAUNCH participants. Prior to building the Health Assessment portal, parents and/or guardians would fill out the assessments by hand, a clinician would hand score the assessments and provide a handwritten report to the physician. Now the parents/guardians take the assessments on a tablet or laptop, the assessments are automatically scored and an electronic report of the results is immediately available to the physician.

About the Assessments:

  • ASQ-SE (Ages & Stages Questionnaire: Social Emotional) - first level screening tool that is designed to identify children who may be at risk for social or emotional difficulties
  • ASQ-3 (Ages & Stages Questionnaire - 3rd Edition) - an assessment tool that helps parents provide information about the developmental status of their young child across five developmental areas: communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, and personal-social
  • ECSA - (Early Childhood Screening Assessment) - a screening tool developed to facilitate primary care pediatrician’s identification of young children (1.5 - 5 years old) who need of further assessment of their emotional and behavioral development.
