Does absolute power corrupt absolutely?
Exploring the uneasy relationship between the governing and the governed, Robert Swann attempts to answer this question with his new scientific thriller, Retrogenesis 2. Building from the story he began with Retrogenesis 1: The Anomaly, the second installment in the Retrogenesis trilogy focuses on the most innovative, destructive technology known to man. Each book in the series is a complete story within itself.
As world political powers clash in attempts to gain possession of this technology, it is held on a secluded island, protected by the technology itself. As the islanders begin using the peaceful technology as a destructive form of defense, problems begin to arise.
As an expert on the interaction between cultures and governments across the world, Swann weaves political and scientific themes into a compelling story, offering a commentary on the current state of world politics and possible outcomes of the current global scientific and political climates. It is Swann’s belief that the same political flaws occur across national boundaries, whether the nations are governed by democracy, dictatorship or religion. He brings this theory to Retrogenesis 2.
Pulling from his extensive experience as a world traveler to depict the tense sociopolitical climate across the planet, Swann hopes to use his book to promote a greater appreciation of political and social issues.
