FreeBalance, a leading vendor of Government Resource Planning (GRP) software, today announced that it will be sharing recently released Good Practice Documents at the 2013 East and South African Association of Accountants-General (ESAAG) conference. ESAAG conferences attract over 600 participants from 14 member states, including Botswana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The objective of the 2013 conference is to provide the opportunity for governance professionals from member and non-member states to explore issues and discuss PFM reform lessons learned. “ESAAG plays an important role by helping members increase public financial management reform and modernization capacity,” said Anne Ellsworth, FreeBalance’s Vice President, Middle East & Africa. “We’re looking forward to sharing our experiences working with governments around the world in support of good governance and accountability.” FreeBalance has been a strong supporter of ESAAG since first participating as an exhibitor and sponsor of the 2006 conference in Maseru, Lesotho.
FreeBalance recently released five PFM Good Practice Documents. A Sixth Document comparing the GRP experiences in developing and developed countries will be released at ESAAG. These documents are available to ESAAG participants in Botswana or can be downloaded from the FreeBalance website. FreeBalance Good Practice documents collect lessons learned with FreeBalance government customers in 20 countries combined with PFM and technical ICT research. The initial set of FreeBalance Good Practice Documents covered Anti-Corruption, Budget Formulation, GRP Reform Sequencing, Multiple Year Chart of Accounts (COA) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
