Today, Edifecs, Inc., a leading healthcare software provider specializing in regulatory compliance solutions for State Medicaids, health plans and other healthcare organizations, announced that CNSI has chosen the company as its strategic partner for ICD-10.
CNSI, the organization designated to manage ICD-10 transition for the State of Michigan will be deploying Edifecs ICD-10 Impact Analytics, Code Management, and Test Management, which together support the end-to-end lifecycle of an ICD-10 project. The Edifecs ICD-10 solution provides risk analysis, greater efficiency, increased accuracy in mapping ICD-9 codes to ICD-10, and better map utilization to ensure healthcare entities can take the right approach to ICD-10.
Edifecs will work with CNSI to manage deployment of the ICD-10 solution as a critical component of the overall ICD-10 remediation project. “We believe the Edifecs ICD-10 solution will effectively augment our efforts on this important engagement with the State of Michigan,” said Sharif Hussein, senior vice president of the Mid-West region at CNSI.
Specifically, CNSI selected Edifecs to work on the State of Michigan Community Health Department ICD-10 project because of its ability to assess, prioritize and mitigate risks associated with each stage of the ICD-10 transition. The Edifecs ICD-10 solution enables healthcare organizations to identify relationships between ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes, simplify and improve the accuracy of mapping between the code sets and perform comprehensive testing using historical claims data. The solution’s mapping, scoring and ontology approach helps analysts generate maps with greater clinical equivalency between ICD-9 and ICD-10—thereby enabling a direct path toward clinical and operational neutrality.
“CNSI and Edifecs have been working together for many years. We have shared many successes and believe Edifecs is a valuable partner in this effort,” stated Jay Majmudar, senior vice president of Information Technology and Partner Relations at CNSI.
“We are pleased to be working with CNSI to support the State of Michigan Community Health Department with its ICD-10 migration,” said Sunny Singh, CEO of Edifecs. “The Edifecs ICD-10 solution is ideal for helping State Medicaids address their ICD-10 challenges and achieve clinical and operational neutrality across the transition.”
