Earlier this month Planet Green Recycle presented Kester Avenue Elementary with their fundraising check and thanked them for their wonderful recycling efforts. The check comes from an e-waste recycling drive that took place on Friday December 7th and Saturday, December 8th at the elementary school located in Sherman Oaks, California. Kester Avenue Elementary recycled over 7,600 pounds of e-waste throughout their drive and raised $884.95.
The Principal of Kester Avenue Elementary, Kate Double, as well as PTA member Theresa Kilcourse happily accepted the check and posed for a few pictures with Planet Green's Chief Operating Officer, Czarina Louie, Director of Marketing, Arica Rosenthal and a few other team members. Both Kilcourse and Principal Double were delighted with the amount of money received for their efforts, but even more ethrilled about keeping all that e-waste out of the landfill.
Planet Green Recycle Director of Marketing, Arica Rosenthal explains, "The e-waste event was a success due to the ongoing effort from both the Kester Avenue Elementary students, teachers, parents and the great team from Planet Green Recycle. Signs and banners were created and placed around the school, robo calls were made to parents, thousands of flyers (on recycled paper) were passed out, and social media posts were made leading up to the event. The Sherman Oaks Chamber of Commerce also helped to spread the word within the community."
Overall, it was a very successful e-waste drive where both Planet Green Recycle and Kester Avenue Elementary are ecstatic with the results.
