Laws.com, in the new series of forms, is launching the latest one in the lot, DD form 1750. This is a department of Defense form 1750, packing list. So many items are included in the form. The records are shown on the reverse side with related notes applicable to each item in the consignment. This information furnished is for mere assistance. Item no: 1 is about the number of boxes in the set.
Item no 2a and b is the requisition number visible on the DD 1750 form or else the order number will be indicated. The reference number should be referred in any future correspondence related to the shipment. Item no three is the stock number, categorization, type number if it’s available and the instruction under which the item was assembled. This is not relevant to shipments containing only assorted repair parts and accessories for the assembly, set or unit. In such cases, the entry will have a note of the information. Item number four indicates the date of preparation and Item five is very much explicit. Column a will be used when more than two boxes are needed for the equipment. The number of container in which items are packed will be indicated in this column. Column b is the space indicating the list of items contained in a specific box and these are located by the stock number and categorization. The manufacturer’s code part number can be used in case an FSN is not applicable.
A component part shortage due to out of stock problem within the Department of Defense system can be ignored by higher authority if the shortage is not going to cause concern to the operational functions. The shortage will be taken care through proper channels at a later stage. Column d specifies the items required for the operation of the equipment. Column e indicates the ‘running spares’ the items which are supplied along with the equipment as spare parts and accessories.
