Thumbtack Technology, a leading IT consulting firm, announced today positive gains in revenue for the 2012 calendar year. Successful collaboration between the Brooklyn, New York and Omsk, Russia offices resulted in income growth of 54% and revenue growth of 50%, along with key customer wins and an array of company achievements.

One major priority for Thumbtack in 2012 was to broaden its client base. The company was able to gain key wins in the US and internationally with companies like Tinkoff Digital in Russia. Thumbtack worked with a variety of companies in the Media & Publishing and Ad Tech industries, with results that exceeded the expectations of clients. Concentration for these projects were mainly in areas such as building scalable cloud based architectures, Big Data Analytics, and NoSQL.

Research and Development:
Thumbtack is diligently working on a newly created research and development wing of the company. This new branch is seen as a great investment for the future.

The report was intended to shed light on the underlying kinds of tradeoffs that are made when choosing a NoSQL database for ultra-high load applications. Most benchmark studies gloss over the fundamental differences in transactional models between databases and what effects these have; the report was an effort to bring some specific metrics to IT decision makers.
