Temperatures in this region are perfect for golf. Starting as early as March, average temperatures are in the 50’s (˚F). The courses are beautiful in the spring with fresh blossoms and a beautiful breeze in the air. Beautiful fall foliage awaits visitors who decide to visit in September or later.
Our premier course, Sultan’s Run Golf Club is located in Jasper, Indiana. Extending over 224 rolling acres of woods, water, and wildlife, Sultan’s Run is a breathtakingly beautiful championship course. Ranked 4½ Stars by Golf Digest, the perfectly-manicured course contains bent grass on the putting surface, zoysia on the tees, fairways, and greens, and roughs consisting of a Bermuda and fescue blend. Golf Digest’s Places to Play Guide stated, “The waterfall behind #18 takes your breath away… scenic, challenging, and worth the trip to Jasper!” Not only does this course “take your breath away” it is actually a surprisingly affordable price that leaves many visitors explicitly pleased.
Sultan’s Run is home to multiple new tournaments this year. On April 29, The PGA Indiana Southern Open takes place. This tournament is open to Indiana PGA Members in good standing, approved player apprentices, and Indiana amateurs with a current IGA-PGA BlueGolf handicap not exceeding 6.4. The winner of the Southern Open will receive an exemption into this year’s Indiana Open Championship. The Web.com tournament is also taking place this year.
Only ten minutes away from Sultan’s Run, Jasper Municipal Golf Course is one of the best municipal courses in our state. This 18-hole course has zoysia fairways and is located in the heart of Jasper.
Other favorite courses in the region include the Country Oaks Golf Club in Montgomery and Christmas Lake Golf Course in Santa Claus. These courses all feature beautiful scenery and perfectly-manicured fairways and greens. Both courses are only 30 minutes way from Jasper.
