Basics of Buying Distressed Assets: A Webinar

West LegalEdcenter and Financial Poise are proud to announce their upcoming webinar, “Buying Distressed Assets Outside of Bankruptcy,” featuring experts from Versa Capital, H.I.G. Capital, Fuel Break Capital Partners, and Levenfeld Pearlstein, LLC.

The webinar will be held on March 7th and will cover the various legal tools used by buyers of distressed companies; the pros and cons of buying though foreclosure/Article 9, receivership, an assignment for the benefit of creditors, and bankruptcy will be contrasted.

The webinar will be taught by:

•     Dave Blechman, Managing Director at H.I.G. Capital’s U.S. LBO business. Dave’s 17+ years of private equity and investment banking experience includes senior roles at Tower Three Partners and Sun Capital Partners.
•     David Lorry, principal in transaction execution at Versa Capital. David’s 20 years of business and legal experience includes advising clients in a range of industries, helping them solve a variety of business issues and execute business transactions.
•     Jonathan Friedland leads the firm’s distressed M&A practice and has represented strategic and financial buyers across the United States for nearly 20 years, including in bankruptcy, Article 9, assignments, and Receiverships.
•     Rick Rosenbloom is Managing Partner of Fuel Break Partners a Connecticut-based special situations investment and advisory firm. Rick has over 20 years of distressed investment, restructuring, M&A and operational experience including acting as General Counsel and Senior Vice President of the Hilco/Great American Group.
