AM&AA has been selected by Thomson Reuters to host a Symposium during their Buyouts East Conference, which is part of the PartnerConnect series of alternative assets events. This game changing partnership helps investors and advisors explore new solutions and alternative investments in the large and highly fragmented marketplace for middle market, private companies. In addition, PartnerConnect West, a second symposium, will be held October 7-9, 2013, at The Ritz Carlton, Half Moon Bay, Calif.

World-class experts will highlight investment opportunities and challenges in the overlooked and underserved, lower middle market of companies with sales of less than $500 million.

The symposium will be divided into three segments:

First, Rob Slee, CM&AA* from Roberson Foley will kick off the event with an overview of the lower middle market. Slee will provide a big-picture perspective and discuss current trends impacting companies and investments in this market space.

Following Slee will be a panel discussing best practices in creating value and nurturing targets to become viable acquisitions and portfolio companies. The panel will be moderated by Kenneth Marks, CM&AA, High Rock Partners and include industry leaders Jay Jester, Audax Group, Brett Palmer, CM&AA, SBIA, and Jeffrey Kadlic, Evolution Capital Partners.

The final session will be hosted by David Cohn, CM&AA, Diamond Capital Advisors and Chris Blees, CM&AA, BiggsKofford. They will delve into the idiosyncrasies of deal making in the lower middle market and highlight the unique challenges and rewards the market has to offer.

The symposium will conclude with a networking reception to be hosted by Thomson Reuters providing the opportunity to connect with several hundred event attendees.
