Liquid Motors announced today that they are seeing record growth with the use of their wholesale tools. Multi-Platform selling is the latest buzz within the remarketing industry but it is not new to Liquid Motors. The company, founded in 2005, has been working with automobile dealers to distribute their inventory to numerous retail marketplaces to create maximum exposure for their inventory. These marketplaces include eBay Motors, Cars.com and Autotrader.com just to name a few.
Inventory distribution companies provide value by allowing users to enter vehicle information in one centralized system and that system distributes the data to all the marketing destinations. Liquid Motors identified the same need for wholesale merchandising of vehicles that the company provided for retail merchandising. Dealers were listing their inventory on all of the major wholesale sites manually, a time consuming task with lots of room for human error. If a vehicle sells on one site or on the lot, they would have to manually remove it from the other sites and if they forget, they run the chance of the vehicle double selling. Some sites charge double sale fees to the dealers and these fees can be as much as $500 per vehicle.
Liquid Motors realized that the process needed to be simpler for the dealer but it also needed to protect them from double sales. In 2011, the “One Click Wholesale” service was launched. Inventory is pushed into the portal from a dealers DMS system, their lot services provider, or they can manually enter the vehicle. The dealer can then decide to launch the vehicle to one or multiple sites with a click of the button. If a vehicle is on multiple channels at the same time and the vehicle is sold via wholesale or retail, the system would seamlessly remove the vehicle from the other sites protecting the dealer from double sales and any penalties.
“It is an exciting time for our industry as more dealers adapt to the technology that is available to them” said Michael Daseke, Chief Executive Officer of Liquid Motors. “We plan on continuing to enhance our wholesale merchandising services to provide additional value to companies wanting to leverage the online wholesale marketplaces.”
Over the last 6 months, Liquid Motors is seeing tremendous growth in the number of customers using the “One Click Wholesale” service, the listing volume of those customers and most importantly the sales rates of listed vehicles. The growth has not just been within the dealer population but there are also 35 independent auctions that have signed up to use the service.
“Since launching the product in 2012, we now have over 1,000 dealers that have the ability to launch their inventory to one or multi online wholesale marketplaces” said Greg Lubrani, Chief Operating Officer of Liquid Motors. “Further Independent auctions are launching their grounded vehicles and are also going to the dealer and assisting them with their online wholesale strategies” added Lubrani.
“Liquid Motors has been great to work with on our online selling strategy. We have doubled our online sales by utilizing their products” said Dale Martin, General Manager of Lone Star Auto Auction in Lubbock, Texas. “By utilizing their wholesale products, we have the ability to launch our vehicles seamlessly to all of the major online wholesale sites giving us increased exposure.”
