Milwaukee, WI (PRWEB) March 07, 2013
Focus on Energy, Wisconsin utilities’ statewide program for energy efficiency and renewable energy, and Milwaukee Energy Efficiency (Me2), a stimulus program for City of Milwaukee homeowners, have teamed up to offer income-eligible homeowners rewards for making air sealing, insulation and home heating equipment improvements. Program participants will receive a free energy assessment, performed by a participating Trade Ally (contractor). The assessment includes a full visual inspection of the home, technology based diagnostic testing and a detailed report outlining energy savings recommendations. In addition, during the assessment the homeowner receives free installation of energy-saving products including compact fluorescent bulbs (CFL's), water-saving showerheads and faucet aerators (a $100 value). Moving forward with the recommended improvements can save homeowners up to 30% on energy bills.
Focus on Energy is pleased to partner with Me2 in providing qualified homeowners an enhanced rewards program for installing energy saving products like insulation and new heating equipment,” says Carter Dedolph, Senior Program Manager for Focus on Energy’s Home Performance Program. “Never in the history of the program have homeowners been eligible to receive up to $7,850 in rewards. Participation is quite simple, but the rewards are limited and only available on a first come, first-served basis.”
The first step is to apply for the Focus on Energy program. Simply call 1.800.762.7077 or visit http://focusonenergy.com/assistedhp to check your income eligibility or request an application. Homeowners earning less than 80% of the State Median Income and are customers of participating utility companies are eligible to participate. For example, the household income for a family of four cannot exceed $62,356 to be eligible.
Once approved for the Focus on Energy program, a Me2 Energy Advocate will be in contact to explain the benefits of the Me2 Program. The next steps are simple: schedule a free energy assessment, complete the energy improvements, and then begin saving energy and money.
“We’re excited to partner with Focus on Energy to leverage more resources for Milwaukee homeowners,” said Erick Shambarger, City of Milwaukee’s Deputy Director of Environmental Sustainability.
Homeowners who do not income qualify for this offering may still be eligible for other rewards through Focus on Energy and Me2. Find more ways to save at http://focusonenergy.com/homeperformance or http://smartenergypays.com/homeowners.
