United Planet Internship Abroad

An internship abroad provides an invaluable experience for students. International interns walk away with the critical 21st century skills needed to ensure job security and opportunity creation within a fiercely competitive global economy.

Boston, MA (PRWEB) March 06, 2013

United Planet, an international non-profit based in Boston, MA, is excited to announce the addition of an Internship Abroad program to its global offerings. United Planet student volunteers now have the opportunity to participate in hands-on training in their field of study while gaining valuable international experience. Placements are available in many areas of study, including education, healthcare, psychology and social work, tourism and hospitality, environmental work, and community development.

With an extensive network of coordinators and connections, United Planet will place students in volunteer internships with partner organizations based on students’ area of study and skills. During their internship, students will work with an experienced professional supervisor who will provide ongoing support and feedback based on student learning objectives. Students will experience complete immersion in another language and culture through living with a host family, taking language classes, and participating in cultural excursions and activities.

“An internship abroad provides an invaluable experience for students. International interns walk away with the critical 21st century skills needed to ensure job security and opportunity creation within a fiercely competitive global economy,” explained David Santulli, founder and executive director of United Planet, in his Huffington Post blog, “not to mention a higher level of understanding and responsibility for the shared challenges that we face in an increasingly interdependent world.” Through the new Internship Abroad program, students not only gain experience relevant to their career but also have the opportunity to be immersed in a whole new culture both inside and outside of the workplace.

Students must be 18 to apply for a United Planet Internship (a few exceptions apply) and must be available for a minimum of four weeks. Opportunities are available in India, Romania, New Zealand, Chile, Peru, Tanzania, Ecuador, and Cambodia.
